Enrolments are now being taken for a number of both one-day programs and 'Short Breaks with a Difference'. These are summarised briefly below.

SHORT BREAKS WITH A DIFFERENCE

These programs generally run over three-days/four nights. The cost includes a specially arranged program of lectures, presentations, meetings and field trips; high standard accommodation (on a twin share basis though single occupancy at additional cost is available in all cases); all meals and refreshments; pre-dinner drinks each evening; the support throughout of an experienced MindVentures host; and all transport associated with the program (participants arrange their own travel to and from the location of a program)

NH531 - NEWCASTLE AND THE HUNTER VALLEY (from $975)

22-26 FEBRUARY 2010

A short break based at a four-star boutique hotel in the heart of the Newcastle CBD near the harbour, waterfront developments and spectacular beaches; participation in an exclusively arranged program of lectures, meetings, visits where participants will be able to meet members of the local community and visit a variety of places of interest. One day will be spent in the Hunter Valley.

 

MB534 - HERITAGE MARYBOROUGH (from $875)

4 - 8 MAY 2010

Spend 3 days/4 nights based at a four-star motel in a quiet setting but close to the centre of Maryborough where the colonial and early twentieth century of the city is accurately preserved, participating in a specially arranged program of lectures, meetings and field trips to experience the city as it is in 2010.

 

CN537 -   THE TROPICAL NORTH: CAIRNS (from $1085)

12 - 16 JULY 2010

In this program you can not only 'see the sights' in this more recognised tourist destination but go below the surface to gain an  understanding of the geography, history and social fabric of the place and its people. Based in a luxury resort on The Esplanade overlooking the ocean.

 

CB541 - THE NATIONAL CAPITAL: CANBERRA (from $1095)

3 -7 SEPTEMBER 2010

Experience the nation's centre of government and culture in a specially designed program of visits, meetings and discussions. Stay in a recently refurbished heritage hotel dating from the early days of this planned city, located close to the CBD. See Canberra at its best in early spring, one week prior to the famous Floriade Festival.

 

 

ONE-DAY COURSES
 
Held at University of Queensland, St Lucia, on the third Saturday of each month (unless otherwise indicated). Cost of $99* includes a stimulating day's program of lectures, meetings and related activities; plus a substantial buffet lunch and refreshments
 
* whilst both one-day courses and 'short breaks with a difference' can be enrolled in and paid for on an individual-program basis, a Subscription to MindVentures one-day programs can be made for $267. This entitles subscribers to take part in any three one-day programs within a two-year period plus a $30 discount on any one of the 'short breaks' during that time.
